In addition, with alternative names: there is a Llyn Helig near the North Wales coast, though it is at least partly dammed. There is also one Ffynnon Helyg, in Pembrokeshire (well off our track), which can be found on the 1891 map, and which may start in a pool. If it did, it has now been replaced with a building, and the name only remains as that of the local Trig-point.

Helig/Helyg appears in a number of other placenames from across Wales, some, like those mentioned here, could easily take "Willows" as a translation, while others suggest the word is used as a personal name, such as Pen Helig.
